Having GolfSure insurance does pay…on the double.

Last year, Lee Valley Golf Club promoted GolfSure as a source of insurance for its members.

Specifically designed for the golfer, the policy provides cover for loss of golf equipment, personal liabilities and personal accident. It also featured a recognition for a member distinguishing himself with a Hole-In-One.

Lee Valley member Declan Farrell had a hole-in-one (the second of his career) at the difficult 10th hole at Tramore GC on Thursday, July 30, 2015. He was presented with an acknowledgement of this feat by the management of Tramore GC in the company of the Lee Valley contingent of “Seniors” who travelled to this Senior Tour event.

His achievement was then recognised by GolfSure who entered his name in a monthly draw for such achievers and he duly won the month’s first prize.

He was presented with the cheque for €1,000 by David Keohane, Director Lee Valley Golf & Country Club on behalf of GolfSure at a function recently. Also present on the occasion were Captain Patsy Ryan and President Tony Hurley.

Lee Valley GC also received a prize of €1,000 as the supporting club and Declan presented this cheque to Captain Patsy Ryan.

There is also an opportunity for Declan to achieve even greater rewards because GolfSure also enter a monthly winner in a yearly draw for a VW Golf, a runner-up prize of a holiday worth €5,000 and there is also a prize of €10,000 for a supporting club.

New Year’s Wishes

On my own behalf and on behalf of President Tony and the officers and committee of Lee Valley Golf Club may I take this opportunity to wish you and your family a Very Happy, Healthy and Successful New Year.

It has been a very difficult time, these past 6 weeks or so for all our members who no doubt are at their wits end with ‘cabin fever’, not to mention their poor partners and family who are probably wishing that they would go back playing golf sooner rather than later!

The losses incurred by the club to-date are significant as are the substantial loss of business experienced by the Keohane Family and Paul Coleman. While it is difficult to make-up for losses already incurred it is critically important that we all rally around and support each other in the months ahead. Respect and support for each other will greatly help.

A Spectacular Golf Course in Co. Cork

Lee Valley Golf Club is an 18-hole Championship Golf Course designed by Ryder Cup Legend Christy O’Connor Jnr and calls the spectacular setting of Lee Valley in County Cork its home. The facility was officially opened by Christy and former US Masters Champion Fred Couples.

This Cork golf course is unique in design, with a Parklands-type setting that demands the skills required to complete a Links course because of ever-changing local wind conditions. The course affords the higher handicapper an enjoyable day’s golf while offering a stern test to anyone looking to break par. Water is a prime feature on seven holes and the greens are arguably the best in Cork.

The first hole, from a raised tee, highlights the majestic views and surroundings more than any other on the course. The par 72, 6700-yard layout packs a real punch so it’s important not to get too distracted by the scenery, and correct club selection and ball placement are paramount.

Lee Valley Golf & Country Club has the proud distinction of being included in the Golf Digest‘s Top 100 Irish golf courses on no less than three occasions.

Located only 15 minutes from Cork City, Lee Valley Golf Club
is situated in one of the most beautiful parts of Ireland.
