GUI want your views…..

The Golfing Union of Ireland is issuing a survey to seek the views of club golfers on how its inter-club events might be improved.

As part of its strategic theme, “Outstanding Competitions”, the survey seeks responses from participants on any or all of the GUI’s inter-club events.

‌It also seeks the views of those who do not currently participant to understand the reasons why.

Harbour Shield

Well done to the Juniors who represented Lee Valley over the summer in the four group stage matches of the Harbour Shield.
We topped the group so we now have home advantage with a semi-final match against Kinsale, who were runners-up in the other group.
This match will be played at Lee Valley on Saturday next 17th from 15:20 hours and your support will be greatly appreciated.
The other semi-final sees Douglas host Mahon.

Congratulations to our team of: Keelan McCarthy; Brian Boyd; Simon Kennedy; Adam & Stephen Wills who represented Lee Valley in the AST Perpetual Trophy, hosted by Cobh Golf Club today.
A total of thirteen teams competed and Lee Valley were Runners-Up with a great score of 158 points (based on the best four scores). The Winners were Fota with a total of 161 points.
A special mention for Adam Wills who brought in a great score of 45 points.
This was a great result when you consider that none of the five players HAD never played the course.

Mr. John Bourke, Past-President, (RIP)

It is with deep regret that we announce the death of Mr. John Bourke (RIP), Past-President of Lee Valley Golf Club.

John was the first President of our newly-formed club in 1993 and was a life-long ardent supporter of the club and its activities. His passing is deeply regretted by all members, and in particular the founding members who shared John’s aspirations for the success of Lee Valley Golf Club. It is a testament to such foresight and fortitude that Lee Valley continues to be a vibrant and successful club today.
